We’re about to release our annual list of castings you’ll be tracking down in the 2010
Hot Wheels® mainline -- but we thought there are a couple of things you should know. We’ve mixed it up with the mixes this year, and there have been a few changes and improvements. We can’t show you the list yet, but here are a few things you should know (and international collectors should take special note).
The first thing we should point out is that there will be a difference between the domestic and international 2010 New Models series. In order to more embrace the international world of the Hot Wheels® brand, we’ll be introducing eight castings this year as new models only in the international releases. But don’t worry -- while these eight castings will not be part of the 2010 New Models segment domestically, they will appear in another segment in the domestic releases. When we reveal the list of cars, we’ll call out which castings these are so you can watch out especially for them.
And since we call these Hot Wheels® cars, we thought it would be exciting to add some brand-new wheels to the mix. Beginning in this year’s Muscle Mania® and Nightburnerz™ segments, you can look for cars to be sporting the new J5 or MC5 wheels! (Wheel images at right.) We think you’ll agree with us when we say these wheels are truly… well, you know.
There is also some welcome news about this year’s Mystery® segment packaging: it will now feature a peephole in the back. Just think -- no more half-torn-open blister cards; there won’t be any need for it!
Finally, we introduce the imaginative Race World™ segment this year! This is comprised of 48 cars, broken down into 12 terrain types with four cars each. Intended to inspire play scenarios, the Race World™ cars feature a game on the back of the blister cards.

*While only 44 castings will appear domestically on a 2010 New Models blister card, there are actually eight more new castings this year (total of 52). These eight castings appear domestically in the All Stars segment.
