Not only were they a hit back in 1981 when the series first appeared, but The Hot Ones have been burnin’ hot with collectors in 2011. The series, which highlights early post-Redline era castings, will continue in 2012 in a big way. Look for more of your favorites to return from inactive status, and get to know some exciting new castings!
What’s making a comeback this time? How about the big ol’ Backwoods Bomb, or the Show Hoss Mustang II? A few of the favorites return with new names, such as the Long Gone (formerly the Long Shot) and the ’73 Ford Gran Torino (formerly the Torino Stocker, among other names). More than a dozen castings from the late 1970s through the 1980s will be rolling back into retailers for the first time in many years. You can also look for nine all-new tools to debut in the line this year!
You can still expect to find gold-chromed hubs on some of these releases, just like the originals. Adorned with classic Hot Wheels deco, each casting features die-cast body and chassis.
Here’s a checklist of planned releases to get you ready for the new year:
Mix 1 |
442 Much (Retool!) (formerly Flat Out 442 from '79-'84) |
Baja Beetle |
El Rey Special |
