A Look Back At Last Month's Extravaganza
Last month, the 26th Annual Hot Wheels Collectors Convention was held in Garden Grove, CA to the delight of about 2,000 collectors. Loads of Hot Wheels cars and merchandise changed hands, friendships were forged or renewed, and a time-honored brand continued to prove irresistible to fans of all ages.
At the show, Mattel outlined plans for 2013 -- including the Red Line Club membership car, an exciting new incarnation of the '68 COPO Camaro casting. (If you're a Red Line Club member, you can check out some sneaks of this over the last few weeks in the RLC Sneaks section of this site.) Also announced were the HWC Series for next year: Neo-Classics, Modern Classics and Gulf Racing. Two more very exciting 2013 HWC releases were also revealed: the Original 16 Custom Camaro and Custom Mustang! With some of the other surprises we have planned for you, it's going to be a year you can't afford to miss.
Besides room-to-room trading, an always-amazing Custom Car Show and a special dinner for Hot Wheels graphics artist Mike McClone, there was the ever-present line for the HWC Vending Machine pulls (there is never a shortage of folks who want HWC Chris to spray them with Silly String). If you missed the show, you missed a lot of fun. We've got some pictures here to try to help you get an idea of the action (or to remember it if you were there); please enjoy!
We hope to see you at the next show. Details soon.
