The one-of-a-kind Hot Wheels® jeweled car, made to commemorate the production of the four-billionth Hot Wheels® vehicle, will be auctioned off on Saturday, October 25 at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, Calif. as part of the “California Classic: A Sale of Important Motorcars, Motorcycles and Memorabilia” presented by Bonhams & Butterfields. Proceeds from the auction of the Hot Wheels® jeweled car will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles and the Inland Empire.

This true collector piece -- the most expensive car in Hot Wheels® history -- was officially unveiled at New York Toy Fair in February 2008 and was also on display at each event stop of the Hot Wheels® 40th Anniversary Road Trip this summer. The diamonds on the custom-made jeweled car total more than 2,700 and weigh nearly 23 carats. The car is cast in 18-karat white gold with the majority of the vehicle detailed with micro pave-set brilliant blue diamonds, mimicking Hot Wheels® Spectraflame® blue paint. Under the functional hood, the engine showcases additional micro pave-set white and black brilliant diamonds, and the Hot Wheels® flame logo found on the chassis of the car is lined with white and black brilliant diamonds. Red rubies are set as the tail lights, while black brilliant diamonds and red enamel create the renowned look of "red line" wheels. The customized case that houses the jewel-encrusted vehicle is adorned with a diamond-encrusted Hot Wheels® 40th anniversary logo made up of 40 individual white brilliant diamonds, signifying each year of the Hot Wheels® legacy.
