2008 Hot Wheels Red Line Club Membership Overview

GENERAL QUESTIONS
What is the Hot Wheels Red Line Club™?
The Hot Wheels Red Line Club™ (RLC™ or "the Club") is an annual premium membership for current members of the HotWheelsCollectors.com (HWC™) website. For a membership fee of USD$24.99, plus S&P (shipping processing), Club members will enjoy several premium features not available to other HWC™ members through December 31, 2008.
Do I have to register with HotWheelsCollectors.com in order to become a Club member?
Yes. Club membership is only available to members of the HotWheelsCollectors.com website. The HotWheelsCollectors.com membership is free and simply requires that you agree to the posted terms and conditions and provide a valid e-mail address when registering.
Am I eligible to join the Club?
You are eligible to join the Club if you are at least 18 years on the date that you purchase your membership and have a valid credit card. (Sorry, no checks or money orders will be accepted). Membership in the Club is offered worldwide, except that you are ineligible if you are a resident of Cuba, Iran, Libya, North Korea or Sudan. You should also note that we only ship physical items to addresses within one of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia, U.S. territories, and Canada (an "Eligible Shipping Address"). However you may, at your own cost and risk, engage a third-party shipper located at an Eligible Shipping Address to receive and forward physical items shipped by us. Please note Canadian customers are responsible for any applicable taxes and duties on purchases shipped to Canada.
How do I join the Club?
In order to join the Club you must first become a registered member of HotWheelsCollectors.com. This membership is offered completely free and simply requires that you agree to the posted terms and conditions and provide a valid e-mail address when signing up. Once you have an active username and password from HotWheelsCollectors.com, you can log in and then purchase your Club membership from the Hot WheelsSM Shop. You must comply with all of the additional registration requirements to purchase your membership in the club, including providing an Eligible Shipping Address and other contact information.
When will I receive my membership kit?
As soon as you purchase your Club membership, you will be granted access to the members-only areas of the HotWheelsCollectors.com website. At that time, your credit card will be billed (as the service you paid for has been delivered). Your membership kit will be shipped to you as soon as possible.
Which car will I receive in the membership kit?
The membership kit includes an exclusive die-cast car and a personalized credit card style membership card with your Club member number and your name on it. Each year, the Club car is different. In 2008, the exclusive Club car is the Boss Hoss with color variations determined as follows: the first 4,000 members to join or renew will receive the car in CHROME with red stripes, then the next 5,000 members to join or renew will receive the car in RED with white stripes, then the next 6,000 members to join or renew will receive the car in BLUE with white stripes, and the last 7,000 members to join or renew will receive the car in PURPLE with white stripes.
What name will be printed on my RLC™ membership card (Billing or Shipping)?
The name associated with the SHIPPING ADDRESS will be printed on the membership card. This is very important because you will need to pay for a replacement card if you supply a name other than the one you want on the card in association with the shipping address (assuming you want a replacement card). Please make sure you specify the name you want printed on the membership card as the name associated with the shipping address.
Can I get a replacement RLC™ membership card?
Yes. Replacement Club membership cards are available for a fee of USD$5.00, plus S&P, from customer service. Please call 1-800-858-0102 during our business hours to order a card. If you believe we made a mistake in the printing of your card, we may consider waiving the fee.
Am I guaranteed the chance to purchase all of the HWC™ Offer vehicles?
Yes, and no. Since all of the vehicles offered as HWC™ Offers are limited in the quantities produced, we cannot, under any circumstances, guarantee that every Club member will be able to purchase every vehicle. We do, however, offer the sELECTIONs™ vehicles ONLY to RLC™ members, and we produce the quantities ordered, so as long as you place an order for a sELECTIONs™ car within the time allowed, you should be able to get it.
Can I order by phone or fax?
No. Only online orders will be accepted for memberships as well as for all of the HWC™ offers vehicles. You must order via the Hot WheelsSM Shop website.
What if you have more members than cars to sell?
As hard as it is for most collectors to believe, not every member will buy every single exclusive we offer. For example, if we have 11,000 members and we offer 10,000 vehicles we might still have inventory remaining after everyone who wants one buys one. With that said, membership in this club is not a guarantee to purchase any vehicles. The club membership clearly states that you are guaranteed certain benefits such as the membership kit, access to exclusive areas of the HWC™ site, and the opportunity to purchase exclusive vehicles before anyone outside the club has the opportunity to order. Due to the limited quantities, orders will still be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. (Of course, only Hot Wheels Red Line Club members will have an opportunity to compete in an exclusive 24-hour priority window - see Membership Benefits below).
Can I get a refund if I am not satisfied?
No. We will not offer refunds for any reason for this club. Please make sure you are comfortable with our Membership Agreement BEFORE you purchase a membership.
Can I get a replacement vehicle if there is something wrong with one of the exclusive vehicles I receive?
No. Due to the fact that all of our vehicles are limited in numbers, we do not keep extra inventory and therefore cannot guarantee availability of replacement vehicles to send to people who received damaged merchandise. We will, however, offer refunds to customers who choose to return the damaged merchandise. No exchanges will be made though - refunds only (upon our receipt of the merchandise in question).
Can I pre-sell an item I am planning to purchase?
Absolutely not. Due to the fact that pre-sales cause confusion over the actual release date, we have decided to expressly prohibit such activity. If you pre-sell an item, we have the absolute right to terminate your Club membership with no refund to you.
Can I be kicked out of the Club for any reason?
Any unauthorized use or reproduction of any materials contained on the HWC™ website, or other violations of the membership agreement, will be considered cause to revoke your access permanently from the Club member areas, and it is at the sole discretion of Mattel to revoke all access to the HWC™ site. Also, in cases of extreme or repeated misconduct (as determined solely by Mattel), all club benefits may be revoked without refund, reimbursement, offset or credit to the club member. The bottom line is that we will be reasonable, but we expect all club members to follow the rules.
Can I post content from the club on a bulletin board or another website?
Absolutely not. All content within the Club site is the property of Mattel, Inc. and may not for any reason be copied or retransmitted without permission from Mattel. Please be aware that any instances of content being copied, posted, transferred or the like will result in the cancellation of your membership without any refund. We take these matters seriously -- giving away content that others have paid for devalues the Club membership for everyone.
MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS
What do I get by becoming a member?

Each member will receive a membership kit that includes a personalized membership card with your member number and a limited edition exclusive die-cast vehicle. In 2008, the club car is the Boss Hoss with color variations determined as follows: the first 4,000 members to join or renew will receive the car in CHROME with red stripes, then the next 5,000 members to join or renew will receive the car in RED with white stripes, then the next 6,000 members to join or renew will receive the car in BLUE with white stripes, and the last 7,000 members to join or renew will receive the car in PURPLE with white stripes.

Club members will have an exclusive priority window of time (24 hours before non-Club members) to purchase certain exclusive vehicles promoted on HotWheelsCollectors.com that will be released throughout 2008. In the Next HWC™ Exclusives box on the home page of the site, we will specify when each exclusive window begins. In addition, if and when the vehicles become available to the rest of the HWC™ members, the Club members will be able to purchase a second of these exclusives (if inventory remains). NOTE: Whenever vehicles are made available to all HWC™ members, RLC™ members will be competing with non-members for the remaining cars. Non-members can purchase a total of one car versus the RLC™ members who purchase one car during the priority window and one more car along with the non- members whenever availability opens up to the entire HWC™ membership (or two cars whenever availability opens up to the entire HWC™ membership) if inventory remains. In either case, only RLC™ members can buy two cars (assuming there are any left after the initial 24-hour priority window) versus non- members who can only purchase one. Also, it is possible that not even every RLC™ member would be able to purchase one car during the 24-hour priority window if there were a greater number of members ordering cars than the number of cars produced. All items are limited in production and available on a first-come, first-served basis (even to RLC™ members).

Club members can participate in the RLC™ Rewards program. This program includes the Rewards Priority line of cars. All year, whenever you order any of our 12 HWC™ Exclusives (Neo-Classics™ and/or Real Riders® cars from Series Seven) during the RLC™ 24-hour Priority Window, you will earn two Priority Points for each car you buy. You will also earn one Priority Point for each car you buy from the four RLC™ Exclusive sELECTIONs™ cars created this year. For every six Priority Points you accumulate, you can cash them in to order one of four exclusive RLC™ Rewards Priority Cars. At the end of the year, each of these four cars will be made to order, similar to the sELECTIONs™ vehicles.

Club members will have access to members-only sections of the HWC™ site. In addition to exclusive Club Sneak Peeks (exclusive photos), the site will feature exclusive articles and interviews specially prepared for Club members.

Finally, we anticipate that Club members will have access to other special features on the site. We will do our best to explain any new features to you as they become available.
MEMBERSHIP TERM
How long is the membership valid?
Regardless of when you purchase your membership during the year, all memberships will expire on December 31, 2008 (unless otherwise specified). Beginning late in 2008, plans for the 2009 calendar year memberships will be announced and members may decide whether or not to pay the annual fee for the 2009 membership.
